Thierry Michon
The different grape varieties, on clayey and schistose ground, are the Pinot Noir, the Gamay, the Cabernet Franc and the Negrette for red wines. About white wines, there are the Chenin, the Chardonnay and the Groslot Gris. The yield is between 18 and 45 hectolitres/hectare on average.
The Biodynamic was introduced from 1993 and on the whole vineyard since 1995. Thierry Michon is the first inhabitant of the Vendée to use the biodynamic, method of culture which goes further than the exclusion of chemical and synthetic products. First, the biodynamic culture is taking care of the ground. It’s about insuring the balance and creating harmonious conditions of life between land, plant and environment.
The grape harvest is only effectuated by hands in crates, with a pneumatic pressing, turned to wine in inox vats for white and pink wines, and only in oak vats for red wines. Land vintages are turned to wine into barrels of 400 or 600 liters.
The vineyard produces vintages for a young consumption, which differ by fruity and refreshing characters, and some wines to keep with more concentration and volume.
